Jose Foundation Launches Multi-Million Naira Trust Fund to Combat Gender-Based Violence in Nigeria

Nigerian international non-governmental organisation Jose Foundation has launched a multi-million naira trust fund dedicated to fighting gender-based violence (GBV) across the country. In a statement signed by its President, Dr. Martins Abhulimhen, the Foundation explained that the fund was established in direct response to the alarming rise in GBV cases in Nigeria, and will serve as a vital safeguard for vulnerable groups.
Dr. Abhulimhen affirmed that the trust fund will underpin a host of initiatives designed to protect women and children—providing medical, investigative and emotional support under a single roof, and strengthening the capacity of teachers, social workers and law-enforcement to identify and act on cases of exploitation and abuse.
