Jose Foundation to Empower 500,000 Nigerian Women through Financial Inclusion Programme

Jose Foundation United Kingdom, in partnership with financial technology firm Agency Alliance Ltd., has launched an ambitious empowerment programme targeted at 500,000 women across Nigeria. The initiative will kick off in Lagos and Kano before rolling out nationwide and is designed to drive financial inclusion and economic independence among women through access to digital financial tools and micro-enterprise support.

In a statement signed by the Foundation’s President, Amb. Dr. Martins Abhulimhen, the programme was described as a strategic response to the economic setbacks women have faced, particularly following the COVID-19 pandemic. Beneficiaries will gain access to Point of Sales (POS) terminals, working capital via micro-credit, capacity-building support, and competitive commissions—creating sustainable income pathways for women-led households.

Dr. Abhulimhen noted that the introduction of the Foundation’s new fintech innovation, known as the Bank-in-Box initiative, will strengthen digital finance adoption among women and increase their participation in formal economic activities nationwide.
